In Chicago, The Red Pump Project is asking bloggers to write about the impact of HIV and AIDS on women and girls as part of the annual “Rock the Red Pump” campaign. And they are hosting a fashion show to honor HIV/AIDS activist Rae Lewis-Thornton. In keeping with their mission to initiate conversation and spread awareness, The Red Pump Project will also launch a Twitter discussion on March 10th about women and HIV/AIDS using the #redpump. |

Q City Metro – 12/5/09 DeVondia Roseborough wins Red Pump Award DeVondia Roseborough, head of the Rasberrirose Foundation, was given the first annual Red Pump Award for her efforts to educate teenage girls about the dangers and spread of HIV/AIDS. Roseborough, diagnosed with HIV in 2003, received the award Tuesday night from the Qcity chapter of the national Red Pump Project, an HIV/AIDS awareness group that focuses on women. The award was presented at a gala hosted by JSW Media Group.“The things she has done with her organization have been phenomenal,” JSW's Jameka Whitten said. “It really goes to the mission of the Red Pump Project.” |
